Super Simple Buffalo Chicken Dip

This is a recipe that I make for almost every get-together… birthday parties, Super Bowl parties, summer BBQs, holidays, etc…  I had a special request from my Step-Dad for this dip, since he loves it!

This recipe literally only consists of 4 ingredients and is so simple to make, but is the hit at every party!

Keep in mind that the recipe below is for a party or get-together with several people.  If you’re making this for only a few people or less, you may want to cut the recipe in half.

I start off by placing the bars of cream cheese in a microwave safe bowl, which I also use to mix the dip and serve it in, and warm the cream cheese up for about a minute to a minute and a half at 80% heat.  I make sure to check & stir it once or twice in the middle of warming it up, to make sure that it’s getting soft and heating evenly.

Once the cream cheese is warm, creamy, and almost fluffy, I add in the can of chicken (draining the chicken first, of course), shredded cheese, and the hot sauce.  IMPORTANT: To have the best flavor, use Frank’s Buffalo Red Hot Wings Sauce.  I’ve tried substituting other hot sauce in the past, and the flavor is just not the same.  You can put in more or less of the hot sauce, depending on how spicy you like it.  Also, if you have leftover cooked chicken, you can cut/shred that up and use that in place of the canned chicken.

Then, I stir it up so that it’s evenly mixed, and pop back in the microwave for another 2-3 minutes at 80% heat.  Again, I stir it here and there along the way, while it’s heating.  When all of the cheese is fully melted and when stirred, all ingredients are fully mixed, then it’s time to serve & eat it!

This can be served with chips (for people who actually eat carbs, hahaha), veggies, fried cheese crisps, any anything else you’d like to dip in it, or just eat it plain by the spoonful.

  1. Place bars of cream cheese in microwave safe bowl, and warm up for 1 - 1.5 minutes at 80% heat, stirring occasionally, until creamy & almost fluffy in consistency.
  2. Add in can of chicken (drained), shredded cheese, and hot sauce, then mix well.
  3. Warm in microwave for another 2-3 minutes at 80% heat, stirring occasionally, until cheese is fully melted and the dip is hot.
  4. Serve & enjoy!
